after the tube’s insanity music
i am calm

reflecting on reconnections
from half a century of diffidence
i am half calm

raising dead sheep memory
more what ifs than a storm
i am half calm

what if girl A had listened
what if he B was ever a she
i am calm

all the clichés of undercurrents
bob around like broken buoys
i am embarrassed
